box selection / column selection in PyCharm

step 1: enable box selection

1. Ctrl + Shift + A shows FindAction window
2. type column lists column related actions
3. the top in the list is Column Selection Mode that is assigned Alt + Shift + Insert

step 2: use box selection

1. turn on box selection by short cut key Alt + Shift + Insert
2. hold Shift and select box of interest
3. turn off box selection by short cut key Alt + Shift + Insert
