I'm considering making a multiple cameras calibration dataset with CG modeler/renderer. Functions I want are
- easy to add/remove cameras,
- easy to check rendering result,
- good lens distortion effect.
First candidate is Blender. Blender satisfies first 2 conditions but not 3rd one. Blender's lens distortion simulates simple lens distortion with 1 parameter that realizes barrel <-> pincushion distortion.
Next candidate is POV-Ray though I have not tried yet. If POV-Ray can simulate a good lens distortion effect, I will use is with another modeler because POV-Ray is a renderer. I model a scene with the modeler and then render the scene with POV-Ray.
